Welcome to Parenting with Patience, I am Anne Dunston Musquiz (M.Ed.) and I am so glad you are here! Here you can read a little more about my extensive knowledge and experience in the field of Early Learning, Elementary Education and Childcare Program Management that all lead up to me launching this endeavor as a parent and youth development consultant and coach.
I have been working in these fields since I was in my teens. I chose it as my career many years ago, as it brings me complete joy and satisfaction to work with youth and their families. Over the years I have worked with all ages of children and specifically enjoy preschool and younger elementary aged students. I have experienced first hand how children can thrive when they are enrolled in positive environments that both contribute to their educational and social growth.
My years as a Summer Camp Director and Program Director for out of school time care added knowledge of community partnerships and working relationships with school administration and teachers. My Early Learning experience includes infants, toddlers and three years as a Pre-K teacher. The common denominator in all of these stops along my career path has been the families I have met and connected with along the way.
Connections are one of my favorite parts of this chosen career path, making the connection with the parents and guardians. Being able to support and guide them on their parenting journey is very rewarding and gives back in ways that are very fulfilling.
My personal parenting journey has had its share of trauma and hurdles to overcome. My husband and parenting partner died suddenly in the Winter of 2015 leaving me to parent solo our two daughters who were 7 and 12 at the time. The girls are now mostly grown up and thriving. I see the parenting world through many lenses and want to help support those who need it.
My daughters who are the light of my life!
Parenting is one of the few jobs we take on that doesn't come with a handbook or a manual.
When we have more tools in our parenting tool box the job becomes easier to accomplish.
